- This summer we are repeating our successful FS Exam Prep Course (SUR 121). It is a two semester hour course; tuition in $510 and it runs through August 7. You must have taken SUR201, SUR202, SUR301 and SUR302 at least, or their equivalents. Unlike the “main line” courses accepted by the Missouri Board in fulfillment of the education requirements for licensure, this course will not give you any credit on your education record. It has been created to help FS exam test takers with a thorough review of material required for the exam. If you are new to MGA, on your application please select that you are “undecided” and intend to take a review course. If you have already taken courses at MGA, you can simply sign up for it now after you log in to the Populi portal.
- This fall we offer SUR201, Surveying I. We are also offering SUR301, Legal Aspects of Surveying, and a SUR303, Elements of Surveying Practicewith enough interest we may a two credit PS Exam Review course.
- Official Transcripts are only needed if you are transferring credit for surveying coursework (i.e. it is a prerequisite for the class(es) you wish to take)
- Please have unofficial transcripts (H.S. and/or college, as appropriate). If you need to have official transcripts sent, they can be emailed to Admissions@geospatialacademy.us or by U.S. Mail to “Midwest Geospatial Academy, Attn: Admissions, PO Box 22453, Kansas City, MO 64113″
- A strong background in math (trigonometry or precalculus) recommended for all courses, but especially SUR201 and SUR202
- Pre-requisites for SUR202, is SUR201; Prereq for SUR301 is SUR202, Prereq for SUR302 is SUR301, Prereq for SUR303 is SUR302
All of MGA’s surveying courses have been approved by the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors and Professional Landscape Architects as acceptable surveying education for surveying license applicants. Here is link to Missouri Board’s list of acceptable courses for surveying applicants. The courses listed on the Missouri Board’s link also fulfill the new requirements of six credits (semester hours) of legal aspects courses.
